Encompassing a 122° ultra-wide angle of view with near zero distortion, the original lens was one of Laowa’s bestsellers and renowned as the widest non-fisheye lens available on the market at the time. The new ‘Lite’ version maintains the key features of the original lens but has been adapted to provide a more compact and lightweight design that matches the latest mirrorless cameras. This lens is a versatile choice for landscape, architecture and astrophotography and can also be used for capturing aerial shots and vlogging. Compared to the original 12mm f/2.8 version, it shows significant improvement in sharpness, including at the corners of the frame. It has a minimum focusing distance of 14 cm and measures 75.5 mm in length with a diameter of 77 mm with a weight of approximately 377 grams. This lens is available in both 5- and 16-blade versions. As the second autofocus lens in Laowa’s lineup, the five-bladed version of the 12mm f/2.8 Lite Zero-D delivers fast, precise focus tracking for both Sony E and Nikon Z mounts.
The new Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Lite Zero-D FF is currently available via Venus Optics official website and authorised resellers for a MSRP of US$699. Click here to visit the product page for more information.
