For example, the Tamron Adaptall system… I am using a Pentax K10D with a Tamron 3.8 – 4.0 80-210mm zoom lens and a 2.5 24mm Tamron fixed focus lens. (The effective focal lengths on the K10D are 120-315mm and 36mm respectively.)
The same lenses I used on my 35mm Contax RTS for many years. All I had to buy was one Adaptall II adaptor for Pentax KA mount (around $90 on ebay). That gave me automatic exposure (AE) measuring through the camera’s electronic system for both lenses, with display of the aperture in the viewfinder! No stopping down needed.
Moreover, I have a slightly wide angled lens with a maximum aperture of 2.5 to shoot city life at night! The lenses are manual focus, thus the lack of the autofocus facility by this adaptor is not an issue. For me it never was an issue; I use the manual (M) setting on the camera for 95% of my pictures.

Tamron Adaptall lenses and adapters, I believe, are available for most SLRs and consequently for DSLR’s with a mount compatible with their “SLR predecessors”, e.g. Pentax KxxD series and Pentax KA mount 35mm cameras. Resource: http://www.adaptall-2.com/
