Sony Sonnar T FE 35mm F2.8 ZA

Sony’s Sonnar T FE 35mm f/2.8 ZA (SEL35F28Z) lens was announced concurrently with its two new ‘full frame’ interchangeable-lens compact system cameras. Designed by Zeiss, this lens carries a ‘Made in Japan’ label and is specifically for Sony’s E-mount. It’s supplied with an interesting lens hood, which, instead of flaring outwards, actually shades the front element, leaving a purpose-designed aperture to let in light without interfering with image creation.

Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM Lens

The EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM is the latest addition to Canon’s two dedicated EF-M mount lenses for the EOS M, which launched with the company’s first compact system camera in July 2012. Unfortunately for our North American readers, it seems this lens will have a limited release and won’t be offered in the USA, where the EOS M hasn’t sold as well as expected (in line with other compact system cameras in that market).

The PEN E-P5 is the new ‘top dog’ for the Olympus PEN line of mirrorless compact system cameras. Equipped with the same 16-megapixel sensor and TruePic VI image processing engine as the OM-D E-M5, the E-P5 is a more substantial beast than the E-P3 model it replaces, although its body styling hasn’t changed substantially. But, in line with modern trends, the new camera brings integrated Wi-Fi to the PEN series.
