Olympus Camedia C-60
In summary
The quality of both still shots and movie clips was unexceptional. Many JPEG images lacked sharpness and colours, though accurate, were somewhat saturated. The exposure system was patchy and outdoor shots were rather contrasty. Flash performance was adequate but low-light shots had visible noise and some stuck pixels. The C-60’s response times were average, although it took around five seconds to start up, which is pretty slow. Capture lag was consistent at 0.7 seconds, with shutter lag averaging 0.2 seconds. . . Full review
The Olympus Camedia C-60 Zoom has the same metal body, 3x zoom lens and built-in flash as the C-50 model, but its control layout has been redesigned. The mode dial has been shifted to the top panel and the P, A, S and M settings have been separated out, while the sports, landscape, self-portrait, and landscape+portrait settings have been relegated to the scene sub-menu. However, the 1.8-inch monitor is one of the clearest we’ve seen and its fast refresh rate makes subject motion appear fluid.

Interestingly, TIFF file capture was as fast as JPEG capture, a credit to the C-60’s image processing. Continuous shots were recorded at a consistent 0.9 second interval.

- Effective focusing system
- Histogram in record and playback modes
Weaknesses
