March 5, 2008: Online entries to the 44th international Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition close on Monday 31 March.
The competition is open to anyone with an appreciation of wildlife and a passion for fresh, innovative photography. All images must be submitted by Monday 24 March by post or Monday 31 March online at www.nhm.ac.uk/wildphoto, where entry forms can be downloaded. Up to 23,55 UK pounds worth of prize money is up for grabs, with a prize of 10,000 UK pounds for the photographer who wins the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2008 award. Winning photographers will have their images showcased in an international exhibition that opens at the Natural History Museum in London in October.
A display of the winners of the 2007 Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition can be seen at the Australian Museum in Sydney until 16 March. It then travels to the South Australian Museum from 2 April to 4 May and the Newcastle Regional Library from 2 June to 26 July.
