March 29, 2011: Western Digital (WD) has released a new My Book Studio Edition II dual-drive storage system with 6 terabytes (TB) of storage.
Formatted for Mac computers, the new storage systems are compatible with Apple Time Machine and feature a quad interface providing eSATA and FireWire 800 ports for fast data transfer plus FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 ports for when system flexibility is most important. WD’s GreenPower Technology enables the new drives to use one third less power than standard dual-drive external storage systems.
The new drives are offered with a 5-year limited warranty plus automatic continuous backup software. They include a capacity gauge that lets users see at a glance how much space is available on the system. WD’s My Book Studio Edition II (WDH2Q60000) is priced at $719 and available online from http://store.westerndigital.com/store/wdau/en_AU/home.
