My Passport Essential, still WD’s smallest portable drive, is available in a 500 GB capacity for an RRP of $139.99 and comes in five colours: Midnight Black, Cool Silver, Real Red, Pacific Blue and Arctic White. The My Passport Essential SE portable hard drives are available in 750 GB (RRP $179.99) and 1 TB (RRP $239.99) capacities and come in black, silver, metallic blue and metallic red colors. The pocket-sized My Passport portable hard drives are powered directly through the USB cable; no separate power supply is needed.
WD’s new My Book Essential external hard drive features a small footprint, sleek design and high-capacity storage ranging from 1 TB (RRP $199.99) up to a massive 3 TB (RRP $339.99). The new drives feature dual USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 interfaces, password protection and eco-friendly packaging. They come pre-loaded with WD SmartWare software for automatic, continuous backup of data.
All drives are formatted NTFS for Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 and require reformatting for Mac OS X Leopard or Snow Leopard. They come with a 3-year limited warranty. For more information, visit www.westerndigital.com.
