Sony has released a range of marine housings that let photographers use their Cyber-shot digital still camera or Handycam camcorder without risk in wet environments.

December 6, 2005: Sony has released a range of marine housings that let photographers use their Cyber-shot digital still camera or Handycam camcorder without risk in wet environments.
Available for a wide range of digital still cameras and camcorders, Cyber-shot and Handycam marine housings and sports packs are designed specifically for use in the sea, on the sand or around the water. They will protect enclosed cameras from damage caused by dust, sand or moisture and are ideal for use with most outdoor activities. Cyber-shot sports housings are available to encase the three tiny T Series digital still cameras (T5, T7 and T9) with the SPKTHB, SPKTHA, SPKTHC and SPKSA for both Cyber-shot S60 and S90 models. These housings are available now for an RRP of $149.
Owners of the latest ‘W-series’ Cyber-shot cameras can house them in the MPKWA marine housing, which is available now for an RRP of $349. The MPKNA marine housing for the new Cyber-shot DSCN1 is available now for the same price. A waterproof light for these marine housings is available for $659, while an optional adaptor arm for the light costs $449. Both are available now.

Explore the ocean with the SPKHCB marine housing, which is designed to house any of the Handycam MiniDV HC Series or the Handycam DVD602,DVD653, DVD703 or DVD803 camcorders. This housing is waterproof to a depth of two metres and sells for $459. It is due for release in January 2006.
