Wacom has begun shipping Wacom Color Manager, the company’s new colour calibration solution for Cintiq displays.

Cintiq displays can now be easily calibrated with the Wacom Color Manager. (Source: Wacom.)
Developed in conjunction with X-Rite, Color Manager combines a colorimeter calibrator and custom profiling software that offers specific performance advantages to users of Wacom’s highest color performance displays, the Cintiq 27QHD line, but is engineered to provide calibration to the rest of the Cintiq family as well as other LCD, LED and wide-gamut display technologies. It eliminates the need for a second monitor, thereby speeding up workflow, freeing desktop area and reducing overall equipment costs.
The Wacom Color Manager calibrator instrument rests on the screen and reads colours, working with the profiling software to provide users with easy-to-use, flexible and powerful performance. Two operating modes are available, the Basic mode, which requires no prior knowledge of color calibration and the Advanced mode, which gives users full control over luminance, white point, contrast and gamma levels. Users can save, reuse and share settings so that color is consistent over multiple monitors.
Current Cintiq owners can purchase the Wacom Color Manager, available now, from Wacom’s eStore for $329, or authorised resellers. Wacom customers working on the latest Mac OS X El Capitan (version 10.11) will need to update their Wacom Color Manager software from version 1.0.0 to version 1.1.0.
