July 8, 2008: Tasco Sales Australia releases Vivitar’s new Vivicam 5399w digital camera with underwater housing this month.
Available in blue or pink, the Vivicam 5399w has a 5-megapixel CMOS sensor and a fixed 8.25mm, f/3.0 lens plus 4x digital zoom. A bright 2.4-inch TFT LCD screen is provided for viewing images. The camera has 32MB of internal memory and accepts SD cards up to 2GB capacity. It offers five image size settings and two video settings (VGA and QVGA) at 15 and 30 frames/second.
The lens will focus to 1.5 metres. Shutter speeds range from ½ to 1/2000 second. Four white balance pre-sets are provided, along with an auto mode. Users can choose from colour, sepia or monochrome for taking pictures and shots can be date-stamped for future reference. The Vivicam 5399w is powered by two AAA batteries and weighs only 85 grams.
