January 11, 2008: ViewSonic has chosen the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas to showcase seven new computer monitors.
The new 26 inch VX2640w is an LCD display with a 3ms video response time, 1080p full high-definition (HD) native resolution, dynamic contrast ratio of up to 4000:1 and colour saturation almost 25 percent better than traditional displays. Designed for multimedia enthusiasts, gamers and graphic artists it comes with ViewSonic’s new OptiColor technology, which offers high-quality colour reproduction with a 102 percent colour gamut based on the National Television System Committee (NTSC) guidelines. (In comparison, most CRT and LCD monitors on the market today only display 70 to 80 percent of the NTSC’s range of colours.) It is scheduled for release in February at A$1,099 (RRP).
ViewSonic’s 22-inch widescreen VLED221wm desktop monitor uses LED backlight technology to provide a high level of colour precision and reproduction. Use of OptiColor technology allows it to display 118 percent of the NTSC colour gamut, making precise colour matching easier. The display supports a native 1680×1050 resolution, boasts a 5ms response time and features an industry-leading dynamic contrast ratio of 12,000:1 (typ). Dual analog and digital inputs and integrated stereo speakers connect seamlessly with other professional systems. Due for release in February, the VLED221wm will sell for $999 (RRP).
Two new models have been added to the VX 62 series: the 19-inch VX1962wm (RRP $369) and 22-inch VX2262wm (RRP $599). Both models feature a glossy black finish and invisible stereo speakers and support widescreen viewing. They boast response times of 2MS and a 6000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (typ). The VX1962wm will be available in March, while the VX2262wm is due for release in May.
The new VP 50 Series is launched with three models that are ideal for multiple-screen usage: the 22-inch widescreen VP2250wb (RRP $699), 26-inch widescreen VP2650wb (RRP $1,299) and traditional 4:3 19-inch VP950b (RRP $499). The entry-level VP950b model combines 1280×1024 native resolution, 2ms response time, 280 nits of brightness (typ) and a 2000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (typ), to make it one of the most feature-rich traditional LCDs on the market. The VP2250wb offers 1680×1050 native resolution, 2ms response time and 3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (typ). The VP2650wb features a 1920×1200 full high definition native resolution, 3ms response time and a 3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (typ). These monitors will be supplied with PerfectSuitePlus software, for easy settings adjustments, colour calibration, asset management and theft deterrence. ViewSonic’s LCD monitors are backed by a three-year limited warranty on parts and labour.
