March 9, 2006: VicMan has released the first official version of its Photo Toolkit software, a powerful – but compact – editing application that integrates directly into the Image & Fax Viewer toolbar of Windows Explorer.
The $US29.95 application is easy to use and works within existing Windows Explorer or in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer environments. Users will not need to open additional editing applications. Photo Toolkit 1.0 includes an automatic red-eye removal function, a teeth whitening plug-in, tools for correcting skin imperfections and an advanced Colour Correction facility that includes levels, contrast and gamma correction. Noise suppression, resizing, cropping and file conversion facilities are also provided. Users can also create caricatures and add lighting effects to photos.
Photo Toolkit is available as a free trial download that allows users to edit up to 10 images. The application is being offered at a special discount price for $US19.95 for a limited period. Download file size is 5140 KB.
VicMan has also developed a patent-pending software distribution method that allows original equipment manufacturers to install Photo Toolkit in their cameras. Camera owners just have to plug their cameras into a computer that uses any Windows operating system to launch the software. No other installation or activation is required.
