Journalists, photographers and producers whose work addresses humanitarian and social justice issues are encouraged to nominate for the 2014 United Nations Association of Australia Media Awards.

Established in 1979, the Awards recognise those in the media whose work highlights and champions human rights and social justice issues and stimulates public debate and changes in public and private policy. Work nominated must have been   published or broadcast in the Australian public media between 1 September 2013 and 1 September 2014. Nominations Close 5pm Monday, 1 September.

The awards will be given in five major categories: Best Print, Best Television, Best Online, Best Photojournalism and Best Radio. Special awards will be given to work promoting Indigenous Recognition, Multicultural Issues and providing Positive Images of the Older Person as well as works aimed at increasing awareness and understanding of women’s and children’s rights and issues.
