Owners of Olympus E-300 DSLR cameras can now use them underwater at depths up to 60 metres with the PT-E01 underwater case and the underwater lens ports.

June 29, 2005: Owners of Olympus E-300 DSLR cameras can now use them underwater at depths up to 60 metres with the PT-E01 underwater case and the underwater lens ports.
Due for release in July, the PT-E01 underwater case has an RRP of $1999 and is part of a system that includes underwater lens ports and waterproof casings for external flash units. Three underwater lens ports will be available, matching four exchangeable Zuiko Digital lenses:

  • PPO-E01 for Zuiko Digital 14-45mm F3.5-5.6 (RRP $699)
  • PPO-E02 for Zuiko Digital 14-54mm F2.8-3.5 and Zuiko Digital 11-22mm F2.8-3.5 (RRP $799)
  • PPO-E03 for Zuiko Digital ED 50mm F2.0 Macro (RRP $799)

Also available is the PFL-E01 waterproof case for the FL-36 external flash unit (RRP $1299), which allows divers to add high-intensity underwater TTL flash photography to the system’s capabilities. The PTBK-E01 bracket (RRP $259) can be added for easier handling underwater.
