New releases of professional video editing and DVD authoring software from Ulead Systems will include support for the High Definition Video (HDV) format in coming months.

November 2003: New releases of professional video editing and DVD authoring software from Ulead Systems will include support for the High Definition Video (HDV) format in coming months.
The first product to be affected will be Ulead’s MediaStudio Pro 7, which is expected to work with the HDV format by the end of 2003. Other products will follow in early 2004 until all Ulead professional video and DVD software support the HDV format. The HDV format spec was established by Canon, Sharp, Sony and JVC. It is designed to allow consumer and professional videographers to record and playback high-definition video on standard DV and mini DV cassette tapes. The HDV format will provide far higher video recording quality than offered by current digital video camcorders.
