September 5, 2007: Local distributor, Adeal, has released details of three new Manfrotto tripods that celebrate the 20th anniversary of the brand.
The 055XPROB features an adjustable centre column that can be raised and then swung round to horizontal without removing the head or disassembling the column itself. This makes switching between framing and positioning setups more convenient than ever. Improvements have also been made to the leg angle release mechanism and quick-action leg locks to make this 2.4 kg tripod even more attractive. Extending to a maximum height of 178.5 cm, the 055XPROB has a maximum load capacity of 7 kilograms.

The 055XB features the same ergonomically improved design as the 055XPROB, but without the horizontal centre column feature. Lighter in weight and slightly more compact it has leg angle presets that span intermediate heights from minimum to maximum extension (178 cm). A lightweight version of this tripod, the 055XDB is also available. It has a simpler centre column (no short column available) and more traditional locking knobs.
