Tasco has confirmed it will be bringing two new GE products showcased at Photokina to Australia: a rugged mini camcorder and a compact digicam with a built-in DLP projector.

 

October 7, 2010: Tasco has confirmed it will be bringing two new GE products showcased at Photokina to Australia: a rugged mini camcorder and a compact digicam with a built-in DLP projector.
Due for local release in November 2010, GE’s DV1 pocket-sized mini camcorder can shoot full HD video (1080p) and capture 5-megapixel still photos. It is both waterproof and shockproof and comes in green, orange and grey. Features include a 2.5-inch LCD display, SD card slot and HDMI-out socket plus an integrated USB connector. RRP is $199.

GE’s PJ1 digital camera is due to go on sale in February 2011 at a price that has still to be determined. The PJ1 utilises a Texas Instruments’ DLP pico projector which offers a superior contrast ratio of 300:1, a wide 16:9 aspect ratio and a brightness of 15 lumens. The PJ1 features a 7x optical zoom and a 14.1-megapixel sensor. Automatic face recognition, electronic image stabilisation and smile and blink detection are included, along with more than 25 shooting modes.
