June 12, 2007: The new Norton 360 security software from Symantec provides a comprehensive data security solution that includes protection of image files from digital cameras.
Easy to use, it combines Symantec’s security and PC tune-up technologies with new anti-phishing and automated backup technologies to help guard against identity theft and to protect valuable data. Built-in Backup and Restore facilities include automated storage and retrieval of photos, financial files and music to either local or online backup options. Other areas of protection include PC Security covering threats such as viruses, spyware and hackers and Transaction Security that provides online fraud protection for shopping, banking and other e-commerce transactions. Norton 360 is designed to offer a user experience that is reassuring, helpful, non-intrusive and free from confusing technical jargon within a seamlessly integrated user interface that automatically handles issues in the background. It provides at-a-glance status information about the state of the PC and data, as well as what activities could be at risk. Smart background scheduling runs scans, tune-ups, and back-ups when a PC is idle and free.
New embedded support components provide easier and quicker resolution of common issues like connectivity, licensing, and product activation. As always, Norton 360 customers are protected by the Symantec Global Intelligence Network, which consists of more than 40,000 sensors monitoring network activity in more than 180 countries. This unique network comprehensively tracks attack activity across the entire Internet. Symantec also gathers malicious code data along with spyware and adware reports from the more than 120 million client, server, and gateway systems that have deployed Symantec’s security products. Norton 360 is now available for purchase through the Symantec online store at www.symantecstore.com, where full product information can be found. It is also available for purchase at various retail locations and online retailers for $129.99 (which includes one-year service subscription to use the product and receive Symantec’s protection updates throughout the year).
