Sony Europe’s Recording Media & Energy (RME) division has announced its intention to enter the CompactFlash memory market with the first products to be released shortly.

 

January 18, 2007: Sony Europe’s Recording Media & Energy (RME) division has announced its intention to enter the CompactFlash memory market with the first products to be released shortly.
Designed to handle the demanding speed and performance requirements of digital SLR cameras, the first releases will include CompactFlash Type I cards with 66x and 133x transfer speeds and capacities between 1GB and 4GB. The products will be branded as part of Sony’s øŽ ±100 D-SLR camera system.
Sony has also announced an 8GB Memory Stick PRO Duo – the largest storage capacity currently available in this format. Robust and capable of operating in extreme working conditions, the new cards include a 5 year warranty. Free file rescue software can be downloaded from www.sonydigital-link.com/memstick/ enabling quick recovery of photographs and other files which may have been lost or deleted. All Memory Stick PRO Duo media come complete with a standard size Memory Stick adaptor.
