Sony Australia has issued the following statement:  Certain units within the serial number range from 6310198 to 6311127 (UC2 Version) have been affected. When shooting with extremely bright light shed on the built-in viewfinder side (i.e. the left side of the camera when viewed from behind), certain shooting scenes may cause unwanted light to appear at the bottom right corner of the image. We believe that this symptom may occur only under extremely rare shooting conditions. We are offering customers a free inspection and service where necessary and have endeavoured to contact our retail partners and customers to alert them to this issue. Customers with concerns can call Sony customer support on: 1300 137 669.

We haven’t reviewed this camera but its specifications (and price tag) are impressive. It’s currently listed as ‘out of stock’ on the Sony Australia website (http://www.sony.com.au/product/dsc-rx1rm2).
