August 21, 2006: Sony’ is bringing the slide show back with a new device that makes storing and sharing digital still photos easy.
The new HDPS-L1 High Definition Digital Photo Album comes with 80GB of built-in storage and makes it easy to move digital image files from a camera or computer to its internal hard disk drive. Images can be uploaded directly via memory card slots by simply pressing the One-Touch Copy button. The HDPS-L1 also has a comprehensive suite of functions for organising and displaying photos on TV sets.
High Definition output allows images to be displayed on a High Definition TV and watched in 16:9 widescreen format without compromising picture quality. The HDPS-L1 also allows photos to be viewed on a standard TV in 4:3 aspect ratio. A Calendar Catelogue uses the image’s creation date to sort images chronologically for display on screen in sequence. Users can browse through image files manually or choose from any of the eight Slide Show styles the device supports.
Eight background music clips are provided with each HDPS-L1 or users can download music clips from any personal audio device by connecting it through the Auxiliary-Input

on board the HDPS-L1. The HDPS-L1 accepts all popular camera memory media, including Memory Stick Pro, Memory Stick Pro Duo, Compact Flash, Microdrive, SD Card and xD-Picture Card. It can also read JPEG and RAW files (from some cameras).
Weighing only 1.8kg and smaller in size than a standard DVD player, the HDPS-L1 fits neatly into the living room and is portable enough to take anywhere. It comes with AC, Composite and Component video and USB cables plus a remote control. The HDPS-L1 is available in stores now for an RRP of $499. For more information visit www.sony.com.au.
