Sony has announced the full-frame mirrorless Alpha 1 II and G Master standard zoom FE 28-70mm f/2 lens, both available in Australia next month.

Sony Alpha 1 II

Sony Alpha 1 II key features:
– Full-frame Exmor RS® stacked CMOS sensor, 50.1 effective MP resolution.
– Continuous shooting with AF/AE tracking at up to 30 frames per second.
– Anti-distortion shutter and improved image clarity at mid-to-high sensitivities.
– New Auto mode to detect a wider variety of subjects.
– Pre-Capture function allowing capture up to one second before the shutter button is pressed.

The Alpha 1 II will be available in Australia at the end of December 2024, RRP AUD 10,999.

Sony FE 28-70mm f/2 G Master lens

Sony FE 28-70mm f/2 G Master lens key features:
– First G Master standard zoom lens with a constant f/2 aperture.
– Floating focus for sharpness down to 0.38 m focus across the zoom range.
– Nano AR Coating II to minimise flare/ghosting and optics.
– Controlled spherical aberration throughout the design with XA elements and a new 11-blade aperture unit.
– Reduces chromatic aberration using super ED (extra-low dispersion) and ED glass elements.
– Fully compatible with the α9 III high-speed continuous shooting with AF/AE tracking.

The Sony FE 28-70mm f/2 lens will be available in Australia from mid December 2024, RRP AUD 5,299.
