November 25, 2006: Eight of Sony’s Cyber-shot camera models sold between September 2003 and January 2005 are being recalled due to a defect in their LCD systems.

The defect causes images to appear distorted or the cameras may not be able to take pictures at all, particularly in humid environments. Sony has predicted approximately 4,000 cameras will require attention. Affected cameras will be repaired for free. The cameras affected by the recall include the following Cyber-shot modes: DSC-F88, DSC-M1, DSC-T1, DSC-T11, DSC-T3, DSC-U40 and DSC-U50. Contact Sony by phoning 1300 13 7669 or visit the Sony website at www.sony.com.au if your camera is affected.
