July 14, 2008: Following the success of last year’s World View camera phone photography competition, Sony Ericsson has today launched World View 2008, an online competition for camera phone photographers.
World View 2007 received more than 70,000 entries from every corner of the world but World View 2008 is set to outstrip it, thanks to a new and interactive website (www.sonyericsson.com/worldview) and more attractive prizes. The new look World View website allows people to enter the competition and pick up hints and tips from top photography professionals. Visitors will also have the opportunity to join a global community where they can share their images with people worldwide and vote for their favourite shots. They can also check out the latest Sony Ericsson mobile camera phones.
This year, visitors will also be able to find out about the story behind the images. One of the new additions to the site – ‘flash photo gallery’ will offer participants the option to include a mini biography of themselves and a description of the shot. This will allow for an interesting insight into their lives and for site visitors to understand the entrant’s ‘World View’.
A new People’s Choice Prize will be awarded to the photographer whose image receives the most

votes from online viewers. The prize will be a world trip worth AU$10,000. The main prize, which will be chosen by Sony Ericsson’s panel of elite photography judges, is a once-in-a-lifetime trip worth AU$20,000. To visit World View log onto www.sonyericsson.com/worldview.
