Sony has announced the addition of user selectable compressed and uncompressed 14-Bit RAW image capture to its α7S II and α7R II cameras.
This feature will be included in the α7S II when it ships later this year. It will be added to the α7R II via a firmware update although no date for the release of the update has been made available so far. Other cameras in the series are also slated for updating via firmware. Sony has also announced plans to expand its line-up of α E-mount lenses supporting 35 mm full-frame sensors to more than twenty in 2016.
