August 24, 2006: Two exciting new snapshot printers are being added to Canon’s range in October.
The revolutionary Pixma mini260 (RRP around $200) uses Canon’s advanced inkjet features, including 1 picolitre FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) print-head technology, ChromaLife100 ink and Card Direct printing from memory cards. A large 2.5-inch LCD is provided for viewing images on memory cards and an Easy-Scroll Wheel makes the Pixma mini260 simple to operate. Built-in direct printing functions include Face Brightener, Noise Reduction, Vivid Photo, Red Eye Correction, Layout Print, Sticker Print, Trimming, and adjustments for brightness, contrast and colour hue. This model can print a borderless 15 x 10 photo via PictBridge in 59 seconds – or only 52 seconds from a computer. Weighing only 2.2 kg, it comes with a mains power adaptor and an IrDA interface for direct printing of JPEG images from mobile phones. A Bluetooth adaptor is optional.

The new Selphy CP720 (RRP around $150) replaces the CP710 model and uses the same dye sublimation technology to produce postcard-sized prints in less than a minute. It has a 1.5-inch LCD monitor for viewing images and slots for direct printing from popular memory cards. Print resolution is 300 x 300 dpi and three print sizes are available: postcard, L-size and card-size. Weighing only 930 grams, it comes with a compact power adaptor AC cable.
