The Sydney Morning Herald is giving Sydney-based photo enthusiasts the chance to be a photojournalist for a in the 1440 Photo Challenge, which closes on 24 July, 2011.

 

July 4, 2011: The Sydney Morning Herald is giving Sydney-based photo enthusiasts the chance to be a photojournalist for a in the 1440 Photo Challenge, which closes on 24 July, 2011.
The title of the contest is drawn from the fact there are 1440 minutes in a day and entrants are being asked to produce a photograph than encapsulates one of these minutes. All participants must register online at http://www.fotoriesel.com before 14 July, 2011. Follow the prompts to the registration page, select a start time block and complete the online registration form. An entry fee of $15 is payable at registration and entrants will be emailed if their registration is successful.
Each participant must begin the 1440 Photo Challenge at the Foto Riesel Create Centre, 360 Kent Street Sydney at the time nominated during registration. Participants will be checked-in by providing a printout of their registration confirmation email, they will be given their brief document and free copy of the weekend edition of the Sydney Morning Herald. Photographs must be uploaded to the entry application on the Foto Riesel Facebook page during the upload period, commencing on Sunday 17th July 2011, and concluding on Sunday 24th July 2011 at 11.59pm AEST. Each entrant may upload one (1) image per brief.
Each entry will be individually judged based on artistic, creative and technical merit by a panel of judges appointed by Foto Riesel and Fairfax Media. The judging will take place between Monday 25th July 2011 and Friday 5th August 2011. The photographer judged to have submitted the Best Image will be declared as winner and receive the opportunity to be published in the Herald and win a Canon EOS 60D Premium Camera Kit.
