Nikon Australia will add six new additions to its digital compact camera range, the COOLPIX P610, AW130, S9900, S7000, S33 and L840.

The 16-megapixel COOLPIX P610 features a 60x optical zoom lens (24-1440mm in 35mm format) plus a 120x Dynamic Fine Zoom expansion. A new Dual Detect Optical VR technology provides stabilisation equivalent to a shutter speed effect approximately 5.0 stops faster plus an ACTIVE mode for staibilisation while moving. Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities and built-in Wi-Fi support easy image sharing via the free Wireless Mobile Utility app, while the GPS/GLONASS/QZSS support records detailed location information on shooting sites (latitude and longitude). Full HD 1080/50p video movies can be recorded with along with the newly added time-lapse movies. In addition, a zoom microphone ensures clear and crisp sound quality when both optical and digital zoom are utilised.
The rugged COOLPIX AW130 is submersible up to 30 metres and includes new location tracking features. Built-in Wi-Fi and NFC enable easy uploading of images and movies to compatible smart devices, while GPS/GLONASS/QZSS support provides easy geotagging. Handy information such as latitude and longitude, altitude, air pressure, and points of interest, is accessible at the press of a dedicated ‘MAP’ button. The camera also features a Smart Portrait Mode, along with new functions like Blink Proof, Smile Timer, and Self-collage. Pictures can be enhanced with the Glamour Retouch feature’s twelve options, which let users adjust everything from the colour of their lipstick, eye size and mascara. The COOLPIX AW130 measures 110.4 (W) x 66.0 (H) x 26.8 (D) mm and weighs approximately 221g (including battery, SD memory card).
Also with 16 megapixels, the COOLPIX S9900 has a 30x optical zoom lens and 60x Dynamic Fine Zoom as well VR shake reduction. The 921k-dot, 3.0-inch vari-angle TFT LCD monitor has an energy-efficient RGBW pixel alignment. Design touches like the textured elastomer cladding serve both an aesthetic and functional purpose, while the new command dial allows quick selection of exposure modes, Scene modes, Autofocus area and Special Effects. Being able to select between four exposure modes, photographic expression can be easily achieved via the quick and convenient adjustment of shutter speed and aperture.
Nikon’s 16.0-megapixel COOLPIX S7000 is compact and lightweight with a powerful 20x optical and 40x Dynamic Fine Zoom. Measuring approximately 99.5 (W) x 60.0 (H) x 27.4 (D) mm and weighing approximately 161 grams with battery and SD cardit claims the world’s lightest design in its class. With built-in Wi-Fi and NFC capabilities, transferring pictures and videos to a smart device is made simple with the free Wireless Mobile Utility app.
The 13.2-megapixel COOLPIX S33 sports a 3x optical lens and 6x Dynamic Fine Zoom. It is waterproof (up to 10m), shockproof (resists a drop of 1.5m), cold-resistant (down to approx. -10 °C) and dustproof (JIS/IEC protection Class 6 (IP6X) equivalent) and comes in blue, white and pink.
The COOLPIX L840 has a 16.0-megapixel backside-illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor and 38x optical zoom lens (22.5mm to 855mm, 35mm format equivalent) plus 76x Dynamic Fine Zoom. Focusing power is quick, accurate and simple, with both Pre-Focus (AF) and Target Finding autofocus (AF). Eighteen pre-set Scene modes include two new additions: a bird-watching mode and a moon mode, that take advantage of the powerful zoom features. The Smart Portrait Mode includes features like Blink Proof, Smile Timer and Skin Softening plus an array of Glamour Retouch options.
The COOLPIX P610, AW130, S9900, S7000 and L840 are scheduled for release on 29th February, 2015 with the COOLPIX S33 arriving on 5th March 2015. Details are available at www.MyNikonLife.com.au.
