Sigma Corporation has released RRPs for its high-featured SD1 DSLR camera for the UK and USA markets where it is scheduled to go on sale in both regions next month.

 

May 20, 2011: Sigma Corporation has released RRPs for its high-featured SD1 DSLR camera for the UK and USA markets where it is scheduled to go on sale in both regions next month.
The SD1 will be the sixth Sigma camera to use the Foveon X3-type imaging sensor but the sensor in the new camera will be APS-C sized, which is larger than previous models. Measuring 24×16 mm, the sensor containing 15.3 million pixels, each with three photosites buried at different depths in the silicon structure of the sensor. Image storage is on SD-type cards. The SD1 body is said to carry RRPs of US$9,700 and GBP 6,199.99 in the UK. FOOTNOTE: Over the weekend the Sigma online store posted MSRPs for four kits with different lenses. Prices ranged from US$7359 for the SD1 plus 30mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM lens to $8649 for the SD1 body plus 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM and 70-200mm f/2.8EX DG HSM lenses.
