Sigma has issued a warning that some interchangeable lenses for Canon are not fully compatible with the EOS 6D Mark II, EOS 77D, EOS 800D and EOS 200D cameras.
According to the company ‘errors’ can occur when certain lenses are attached to these cameras and the ‘Lens aberration correction’ function is set to ‘Enable’ for Live View shooting. The lenses affected are the 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM | Art, 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM | Art, 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM, 50mm f1.4 EX DG HSM and 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM. Sigma recommends users of any of these lenses with the listed cameras should disable the camera’s internal corrections for Peripheral illumination, Chromatic aberration, Diffraction and Distortion in the camera’s menu.
Sigma is working on a fix for this issue and local distributor, CR Kennedy has advised us they ‘will replicate any after sales service offered in the US’. We will advise readers once fixes are available.
