The new Sigma 85mm F1.4 Art lens is engineered to support the highest resolution sensors on the market. Its optical design comprises 14 elements in 12 groups and features two SLD (special low dispersion) glass elements and one glass element with a high rate of anomalous partial dispersion and refraction. A re-engineered AF system brings 1.3x the torque of its predecessor, while other features such as a full-time manual focus override have been added. The minimum focusing distance is 85 cm, with a maximum magnification of 1:8.5. This lens will be available with Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts, the Nikon mount featuring a brand new electromagnetic diaphragm. It is scheduled to ship in late October at a recommended street price of US$1199.00.

Designed to complement the latest ultra-high resolution digital cameras, the new Sigma 12-24mm f/4 lens features the largest aspherical glass mould in the industry, offering photographers an ultra-wide angle zoom with virtually no distortion, flare or ghosting. Ideal for landscape, wedding and event photographers, its optical design includes lens elements made with FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass, which is equivalent to calcium fluorite in performance. Combined with an optimised power distribution, the result is outstanding image quality from centre to edges. With a minimum focus distance of 24 cm at 24mm, photographers can compose incredible close-up shots with expansive backgrounds. This lens will be available with Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts, the Nikon mount featuring a brand new electromagnetic diaphragm. It is scheduled to ship in late October at a recommended street price of US$1599.00.

Designed for the professional sports and wildlife shooter, the new Sigma super telephoto 500mm f/4 Sport lens features magnesium alloy components, a carbon fibre hood, a water and oil resistant front element and is dust and splash proof. A drop-in rear filter slot is provided for polarisers, UV and other angle-critical filters. The optical design comprises 16 elements in 11 groups and includes two FLD and one SLD glass elements, while the optimised power distribution helps minimise spherical aberration and axial chromatic aberration. Transverse chromatic aberration, which can affect the edges of the shots taken in the telephoto range, is also effectively controlled. This lens is fully compatible with Sigma’s tele converters.
Other key performance features include Sigma’s two-mode Optical Stabiliser for enhanced performance when shooting handheld for still subjects or panning and tracking for moving subjects. There is also a customisable AF ‘return’ function for setting the focus position of one’s choice and returning to that preset distance. The lens will be offered with Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts, the Nikon mounts featuring a new electromagnetic diaphragm. The Canon and Sigma mounts, will be available in late October, while the Nikon mount will be available in late November. The recommended street price for this lens is US$5999.
All Sigma Global Vision lenses can be updated with the latest lens firmware from a workstation or laptop using the Sigma Optimization Pro software and Sigma USB Dock (sold separately).
