January 30, 2008: Nikon has unveiled seven new Coolpix models at the PMA International Trade Show, which opened yesterday in Las Vegas.
The Coolpix P60 (RRP $399) is an 8-megapixel model with a 5x Zoom Nikkor lens and EXPEED digital image processing system. Features include sensor-shift VR (Vibration Reduction) stabilisation, extended sensitivity up to ISO 2000 and Programmed Auto [P] and Manual [M] exposure modes. A functional black body with a defined grip provides intuitive operation. The P60 has both an electronic viewfinder and a 2.5-inch LCD monitor. Power is supplied by AA-size batteries.

Four models have been added to the S-series: the Coolpix S600, S550, S520 and S210. The Coolpix S600 (RRP $549) combines 10-megapixel resolution with a 4x Zoom Nikkor lens with lens-shift VR stabilisation and a wide angle equivalent to 28mm in 35mm format. The slim body is made in Titanium Silver colour and sports a 2.7-inch LCD monitor. Face-priority AF, In-Camera Red-Eye Fix and D-Lighting functions are supported, along with a new Active Child mode that tracks moving subjects. A new Pastel mode produces bright images with a watercolor effect.

The Coolpix S550 (RRP $399) combines 10-megapixel resolution with a 5x Zoom Nikkor lens and EXPEED image processing. It has a top sensitivity of ISO 2000 and is available in Titanium Silver, Urban Black, Blue, or Purple body colours. The Coolpix S520 (RRP $379) is an 8-megapixel model with a 3x Zoom Nikkor lens and 16 Scene Mode settings. It will come in Light Bronze or Urban Black colours. The Coolpix S210 (RRP $329) is another 8-megapixel model with a 3x Zoom Nikkor lens that covers the equivalent of 38-114mm. It will be available in Bright Silver, Pink, and Blue.

At entry level are the affordable Coolpix L18 (RRP $219) and Coolpix L16 (RRP $179) models. The L18 has an 8-megapixle sensor while the L16 offers 7.1-megapixels. Both models have 3x Zoom Nikkor lenses, ISO settings up to 1600 and automatically enabled D-Lighting and Anti-shake AE compensation. The L18 will be available in Silver and Matte Black while the L16 will be available in Silver only.
