February 6, 2008: Software developer, Serif Inc., has released a new digital album creator that is designed to help photographers utilise their digital photos and media collections.
AlbumPlus X2 includes facilities for burning image files to CD or DVD; creating slideshows with transitions, background music and movie clips; sending images via email, including to email-capable mobile phones and tagging image files as well as searching and organising images. Users can view essential image data, including comments, EXIF data, tags and histograms. Elements of the EXIF, XMP and IPTC Metadata can be edited within the Information window, allowing advanced users to take full control over their images.
Editing controls include rotating, cropping, sharpening, removing red-eye or adjusting lightness, darkness, brightness, contrast and colour. Users can also set selected images as Windows wallpaper with a single click or create screensavers from a choice of layout styles. Templates are provided for creating greeting cards and postcards as well as photo albums and calendars.
