February 25, 2004: Twenty four young photographers will exhibit their work “movie style”, in Trampoline’s Contemporary Photography Screening at the Valhalla Cinemas in Glebe (Sydney), on May 1, 2004.
The show, which is an initiative of a new ‘youth’ chapter of the ACMP (society of Advertising, Commercial and Magazine Photographers), has been curated by Karra Rees and produced by Virtual Suspects. The multimedia DVD presentation will represent a variety of genres from both contemporary commercial and art photography, with entries from all over Australia. Ingvar Kenne, Lyndal Walker, Paul Knight and Justin Cooper are among the leading photographers represented.
Trampoline’s Contemporary Photography Screening is the first major event held by the group, a non-profit organisation, run by emerging photographers. The event will be run annually, along with other smaller scale events, with the aim of bringing together, educating and inspiring other photography students, assistants and new photographers. The show will eventually travel all over Australia with the aim of raising the profile of photography and the ACMP within the community.
The Sydney screening will be of interest to the photographic, design and advertising industry and members of the public. Ticket reservations can be made by contacting Lisa Cross on 0407451913 or lisa_cross82@hotmail.com. A limited number of tickets will be available on the day. Ticket prices are $7.00 for ACMP members and $10 for others.
