July 29, 2005: Following a management buy-out of Ilford Imaging, Harman Technology Limited has acquired a package of all company assets and rights to the Ilford name and brand on all monochrome products (i.e. film, paper and chemicals).
The new managers have resumed the supply of the powder B&W chemicals for which the UK’s oldest major photographic manufacturer has been famous for 125 years. Ilford Photo recently announced its black-and-white paper, film and photochemistry stocks were at full levels. A chart showing Ilford equivalents for Kodak papers can be downloaded from the Ilford Photo website at www.ilford.com.
Ilford’s inkjet media business has also had its future secured through an agreement that will see Oji Paper Co., Ltd acquiring all shares in Ilford Imaging Switzerland GmbH, of which Ilford International Holdings is the sole owner. The Oji Paper Group has been working for some time now to strengthen and expand its inkjet papers business and expects its acquisition to provide a successful blend of photo media manufacturing and papermaking technologies plus a full product range that fulfills diversifying media requirements from home use to professional-quality digital photography.
