Seagate is adding 200GB of OneDrive cloud storage plus a new photo and video management app to its popular Backup Plus family of external storage devices.

The company has also announced a new high capacity for its Backup Plus portable HDD, which provides 4TB of capacity in a sleek 20.5mm wide single portable drive enclosure. The Seagate Backup Plus family of external drives now feature Lyve’s photo and video management  app, which helps consumers collect, organise and enjoy their photos and videos. Compatible with iOS, Android, Windows and Mac OS X, this app can find and organise images and video clips across multiple devices, improving organisation and access. Adding a Seagate Backup Plus external hard drive to a Lyve account makes it easier to ensure full-resolution photos and videos are backed up and easily accessible via the Lyve app. Backup Plus external drives also come with Seagate’s Dashboard software which enables scheduled or instantaneous on-demand backup as well as Facebook and Flickr backup.  

The OneDrive cloud storage provided by Microsoft is an added feature that allows easy access to your most important files from any connected mobile device and keeps documents that are in progress up to date on each of those devices. OneDrive also makes it easy to work with others on Office documents.

The new Seagate Backup Plus drives are all USB 3.0 bus-powered. They 4TB Seagate Backup Plus portable sells at an RRP of AU$289, while the 12mm Seagate Backup Plus Slim drives are available in 2TB   and 1TB capacities at AU$169 and AU$109 respectively.   They are available in red, black, silver and blue colour options. . The Seagate Backup Plus Desktop drive, which includes an AC power adapter and USB 3.0, is now available in capacities ranging from 2TB for AU$129 to 8TB for AU$599 AUD.  Lyve app can be downloaded from iOS app store and Google Play.
