July 14, 2008: Sanyo’s new Xacti VPC-HD1010 is a compact and light weight full HD digital video camera designed for capturing home movies in high-definition quality.
Weighing only 268 grams, the Xacti VPC-HD1010 supports a resolution of 1920x1080p recorded at 30 frames per second (fps) and 1920x1080i at 60 fps. The CMOS sensor allows still images to be captured at 8 megapixels and the new camera offers 10x optical and 10x digital zoom. Simultaneous still and video capturing is possible by simply pressing the shutter button while recording HD video. Face Chaser technology for still photos automatically detects and isolates faces to assist the camera’s exposure and auto-focus and can recognise up to 12 faces in one shot.
The Xacti VPC-HD1010 records directly onto a SD memory card and can record up to 43 minutes of HD video on a 4GB SDHC card. The Xacti Library function provides easy file saving and playback by simply connecting the USB cable from the docking station to an external hard disk drive, eliminating the need for a computer. A digital stereo recording and noise reduction function produces high quality stereo sound and reduces the amount of wind noise sensed by the microphone to provide a quality recording for playback.
The Xacti VPC-HD1010 will be available from August at Camera House and Michaels Cameras across Australia for an RRP of $999. Visit www.sanyo.com.au for more information.
