June 1, 2010: Sanyo has released details of its new VPC-CA100, a Full HD waterproof Xacti Dual Camera that will go on sale in Australia next month.
Capable of recording 14-megapixel still pictures and Full HD (1920 x 1080) video clips, the VPC-CA100 is waterproof to three metres. Featuring the popular ‘pistol grip’ styling it will be available in bright pink, vibrant yellow and black for an RRP of $549. The camera records both still pictures and video clips in formats optimised for instant sharing on social networking sites like YouTube and Facebook. Eye-Fi compatibility enables automatic wireless upload of images and videos to a computer, enabling pictures to be stored and shared when the user is at a cafø©, on holiday, or simply at home.
The VPC-CA100 includes a digital image stabiliser for countering unintentional camera shake and a colour chaser function that targets moving objects, ensuring accurate colour reproduction of fast-moving subjects. A special high speed sequential shooting mode takes up to 14 full-resolution photos at one frame/second (fps) or 22 photos at seven fps with a resolution of 2 megapixels. A HDMI output allows consumers to plug their camera directly into their TV set to view pictures and video clips.
The VPC-CA100 is part of a new range of Dual Cameras launched by Sanyo that will be available in July 2010. Visit www.sanyo.com.au for more information.
