The new cards come roughly two years after the release of a similarly-specified 200GB microSDXC UHS-I card by SanDisk. They are compatible with Android-based smartphones and tablets and have an A1 rating that indicates each card is optimised for apps, delivering faster app launch and performance that provides a better smartphone experience. The Class 10 speed rating means users can expect to transfer up to 1200 image files per minute if the full 100MB/second speed is maintained. This is enough to support high-speed burst shooting and Full HD movie recording. Purchasers can download a free SanDisk Memory Zone app that lets users view, access, and back up their phone’s files in one location. It can also automatically move files from a compatible device to the memory card to free up space.
US reports quote the price for the new card at roughly US$250. Lower-capacity versions of the card provide 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage, with prices starting from US$50. For local prices and options, visit https://www.sandisk.com.au/home/memory-cards.
