October 7, 2006: Local Samsung distributor, Adeal, Pty Ltd, expects to have stock of the recently-released Samsung GX-10 10.2-megapixel DSLR camera in November. Support is provided for both JPEG and raw capture, with a one-touch RAW button enabling a quick switch without changing the menu. A built-in raw file converter allows raw files to be directly converted to JPEG files in the GX-10. The GX-10 also includes a “My Set Dial” mode that allows users to allocate frequently used functions to the front and rear dials to make then quickly accessible. Continuous shooting at 3 fps (frames/second) is possible for up to nine raw files or unlimited JPEGs. The user interface has also been ungraded.
Samsung also announced the release of five new lenses by the end of this year. These will include a 10-17mm F3.5 ED “fish-eye” lens, 12-24mm F4 ED AL ultra wide zoom lens), a 16-45mm F4 ED AL wide zoom lens, a 35mm F2 AL fixed focus lens and a 100mm F2.8 macro lens. Additional professional lenses will be added to the system in the first half of 2007.
