October 7, 2006: Local Samsung distributor, Adeal, Pty Ltd, expects to have stock of the recently-released Samsung GX-10 10.2-megapixel DSLR camera in November.
The GX-10’s body features a special water-resistant and anti-dust design that prevents hazardous factors such as water, sand or dust from entering the camera. This allows it to be used on rainy days – although the camera is not waterproof. With its pentaprism viewfinder and built-in OPS (Optical Picture Stabilisation), the GX-10 is ideal for photo enthusiasts as well as general users. Image stabilisation is achieved through a Pentax-developed CCD-shift system, which is linked to a dust removal function that vibrates the CCD automatically when the camera is booted. The CCD sensor’s low-pass filter is specially coated to prevent dust from accumulating.

Support is provided for both JPEG and raw capture, with a one-touch RAW button enabling a quick switch without changing the menu. A built-in raw file converter allows raw files to be directly converted to JPEG files in the GX-10. The GX-10 also includes a “My Set Dial” mode that allows users to allocate frequently used functions to the front and rear dials to make then quickly accessible. Continuous shooting at 3 fps (frames/second) is possible for up to nine raw files or unlimited JPEGs. The user interface has also been ungraded.
