Featuring a 16.3-megapixel 1/2.3-inch (6.17 x 4.55 mm) BSI CMOS sensor and

21x optical zoom lens, the GALAXY Camera combines high performance photography with mobile technology, sharing many features with Samsung’s Galaxy SIII smart-phone. It offers consumers on-the-go sharing through Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, enabling users to automatically save photos to the Cloud via Dropbox. An innovative ‘Share Shot’ feature allows images and movie clips to be shared via popular social networking sites and cloud services as well as across multiple compatible GALAXY devices.

New features have been developed to take advantage of the camera’s fast quad-core processor and 4.8-inch (121.2mm) HD Super Clear LCD touch screen. For snapshooters, the  camera’s ‘Smart Pro’ feature makes it easy to recreate advanced photographic setups in just a few simple steps from a series of pre-set scenarios that automatically adjust the camera’s settings. The ‘Photo Wizard’ allows on-the-go edits to be made, while the ‘Movie Wizard’ supports video editing.

The GALAXY Camera also includes ‘Smart Content Manager’, an innovative on-device organisation tool which automatically creates folders, tags faces, and even suggests which pictures to delete.

In addition to the pre-installed applications from Samsung, users can browse the web and download applications from Google Play or the Samsung Apps stores, including the social photography application, Instagram. If users are not sure which app to download, Samsung’s ‘S Suggest’ promotes new photo editing apps. In-built Voice Control also allows users to control functions such as ‘Zoom in’ and ‘Shoot’ through voice recognition.

The Samsung GALAXY Camera will be available in Australia late in November at an RRP of $599.
