September 1, 2010: Samsung Electronics Australia will release two new 2View digital cameras – the ST600 and ST100 – in October 2010.
Offering 14.2 megapixel resolution and a larger (1.8-inch) front-mounted LCD screen that provides an easy way for users to compose self-portraits, the new flagship models of the Samsung 2View camera family also come with larger, 3.5-inch back LCD monitors. Both screens can be activated and navigated by touch. Both cameras come with high-quality Schneider Kreuznach lenses and include Optical and Digital Image stabilisation. The ST600 has a 27mm (35mm equivalent) wide-angle lens with 5x optical zoom, while the ST100 is the first Samsung 2View digital camera with an internal 5x optical zoom lens.
Both cameras also feature Samsung’s Smart Auto (Still & Movie) scene recognition technology and support High Definition (720p) movie recording. They also include Samsung’s Smart Gesture User Interface which enables users to quickly access and use the key features of the camera with either a simple tilt or hand gesture. Samsung’s Jump Shot mode lets users provide a visual cue to those in front of the camera to jump in unison and the camera will recognise the signal and take three consecutive shots.
The Samsung ST600 and ST100 will be available from the beginning of October 2010 for RRP $399 and RRP $449 respectively. For full details, visit www.samsung.com.au.
