September 10, 2007: Ricoh has released a new 7.16-megapixel digicam with a price tag of just $179.
The Caplio RR750 is a slimline model that weights less than 130 grams and boasts a 2.5-inch colour TFT-LCD monitor and 3x optical zoom lens. Offering simple point and shoot capabilities, the RR750’s mode dial can be set to Auto, Program, Portrait, Landscape, Sports and Night Scene shooting modes, as well as Movie mode. Macro shooting is available to within 6 cm of subjects and the camera supports up to 4x digital zoom.

The Caplio RR750 contains 32MB of internal memory and includes an SD card slot that can accommodate cards up to 2GB in capacity. The camera will accept rechargeable NiMH AA batteries and offers a longer battery life than its predecessors. Regular AA batteries can also be used. The RR750 is also PictBridge enabled for direct printing. Images can be transferred to a PC by USB cable, while bundled software enables users to enhance photos and create panoramic images.
