A special “Retrieve a Pic” mailing pack will be available through digital camera retailers for an RRP of $79.95 (incl GST). The purchaser completes the supplied form/receipt, places their memory card and form in the supplied pre-addressed padded bag and posts or couriers the package to Ricoh Australia. Ricoh’s technical specialists will use a range of hardware and software solutions to extract image files that are stored on the damaged card. Successfully retrieved images will be returned to the customer on a CD-ROM together with their memory card. As well as retrieving image files, the technicians can attempt to clear any errors that may hinder any future card use. This is an option as any existing files will be deleted in this process.
All common card types will be accepted, including Compact Flash, SD?MMC, Microdrive, xD Picture Card, SmartMedia and Memory Stick but an additional $22 will be charged for cards with over 1GB capacity. A five working day service turnaround time will apply from the date of receipt. Expedited and/or receipted mail services can be used to ensure speedier delivery to Ricoh or for valuable files. Details of stockists are available from Ricoh by phoning (03) 8831 0433.
