Ricoh Imaging is adding two new zoom lenses, the HD D FA150-450mm f/4.5-5.6 EF DC AW and the HD D FA* 70-200mm f/2.8 ED DC AW, to the Pentax D FA line-up.

The HD D FA150-450mm f/4.5-5.6 EF DC AW is the longest Pentax zoom to date and provides a 3x zoom ratio. The optical design features three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements and one super-low dispersion glass element, effectively minimising spherical and chromatic aberrations, while producing images free of colour bleeding. High-grade, multi-layer HD Coating delivers bright, high-contrast images free of flare and ghosting. The MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) curve of this lens is programmed to be higher than those of conventional models in the same class to deliver high-resolution, detailed images. This lens has a dustproof, weather-resistant construction with 21 special seals to prevent intrusion of water and dust. A new Preset Button has been developed to record a focus point and save it. This lens also includes a zoom lock switch and focus range limiter.

The HD D FA* 70-200mm f/2.8 ED DC AW is a high-performance Star (*) series lens with a fast f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout the zoom range. Equipped with a (DC) motor and focus range limiter to achieve faster and quieter focusing, its optical design includes ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements to ensure edge to edge sharpness, high contrast and true colour rendition. This lens has a nine-bladed iris diaphragm that closes to a circular aperture for smooth bokeh. Dependable, all-weather construction provides 13 special seals to effectively prevent intrusion of water and dust into the lens. The Pentax-original Quick-Shift Focus System for instant switching from autofocus to manual focus operation has been improved with a three-position switch that allows instant switching among QFS/A, QFS/M and MF modes. SP (Super Protect) coating repels dust, water and grease to keep the lens clean.
