The new Zhongyi Mitakon 85mm f/2.8 1-5x Super Macro lens from Zhongyi Optics features a wide magnification range and a very long working distance.

Designed for full frame cameras, the new lens will be available with Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony FE, Sony Alpha, Pentax K, Sony E, Micro Four Thirds and Fujifilm X mounts. A free tripod collar and LED ring light are included in the package. This lens is designed to have an extended working distance, with the closest focus being 10 cm for 5x magnification or 27.2 cm for a 1:1 true macro reproduction ratio. This allows greater flexibility when lighting subjects, reduces the risk of spooking small animals and is more video-friendly. The new lens also provides a near telecentric performance which is advantageous when for macro image stacking and industrial usage.
The optical design of the new lens features 12 elements in 8 groups with an APO design to minimise chromatic aberration. It can be used with extension tubes or bellows when greater magnification is required. Weighing just 750 grams and only 6.7 cm long, it is portable enough to use in the field.
