Western Digital has released a new portfolio of SanDisk portable SSDs built for photographers, videographers and enthusiasts who require storage for moving content while on-the-go.

With capacities up to 2TB, the two new NVMe drives, the SanDisk Extreme and SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSDs, are designed to handle 4K and 8K footage with ease. The flagship SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD features a forged aluminium chassis, which helps it to stay cool under the pressure of a heavy workload and a durable silicone housing to withstand the rigors of production. The drives also help keep content safe with password protection and an upgrade to 256-bit AES hardware encryption.
The SanDisk Extreme PRO and SanDisk Extreme Portable SSDs are backed by a five-year limited warranty, while the SanDisk Portable SSD has a three-year limited warranty. All three drives will be available in selected capacities starting 30th November at selected retailers and online re-sellers. The SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of AU$399 for 1TB and AU$749 for 2TB. The SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD has an MSRP of AU$189 for 500GB, AU$319 for 1TB, and AU$629 for 2TB. The SanDisk Portable SSD has an MSRP of AU$149 for 480GB, AU$269 for 1TB and AU$529 for 2TB.
