With an effective 38mm-equivalent focal length, this lens encompasses a natural perspective, making it ideal for capturing candid street scenes and group portraits. Internally, the lens contains 12 elements in 10 groups, with a carefully-optimised combination of low-dispersion, high-refractive and aspherical elements to suppress common aberrations. The built-in stepping motor provides fast and precise autofocus and is beginner friendly, thanks to support for face and eye recognition. Manual focus over-ride is also supported. Built-in stabilisation makes the lens a good choice for videography and the lens has very low susceptibility to focus breathing. The wide f/1.7 maximum aperture with nine diaphragm blades creates attractive bokeh.
The new lens is priced at US$176, €189 or £165. Click here for more information.
