Ideal for travel and portrait photography, the new lens is the first zoom lens for Nikon Z mount cameras with a maximum aperture of f/2.0. Full details of the optical design have yet to be released but the new lens features a VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism that supports fast autofocusing and  incorporates a new design in the pursuit of enhanced operability and ergonomic convenience. The 35-150mm zoom range gives users a modest wide-angle to medium telephoto range for convenient camera+ lens shooting across a wide variety of genres, from landscapes through portraiture. Moisture-resistant construction plus a fluorine coating on the front element allow it to be used in inclement weather, while the lock on the hood prevents it from being accidentally dislodged while the lens is in use.

This lens is already available for Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras. The Nikon version is scheduled for release in the spring of 2023. Pricing is yet to be confirmed. Click here for more information.
