The new 50-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD (Model A067) creates an entirely new category for high-performance ultra-telephoto mirrorless zoom lenses, with an 8x zoom ratio packed into a surprisingly compact lens. Measuring only 183.4 mm in length and weighing 1,155 grams it is easy to pack into a camera bag. The (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism provides fast and near-silent responsiveness, while VC (Vibration Compensation) stabilisation makes the new lens ideal for hand-held shooting. Users can enjoy the world of half-macro photography with up to one-half life-size magnification at the 50mm end, where the MOD (Minimum Object Distance) is just 25 cm. The lens also uses the same 67 mm filters as most other Tamron lenses.
A new physical design includes ergonomic features that support comfortable shooting, such as improved texture and operability plus a Connector Port for the dedicated Tamron Lens Utility. Also included is a Focus Limiter function and an optional Arca-Swiss compatible accessory tripod mount is available for using this lens on a tripod. The lens also features a zoom lock switch, moisture-resistant construction and a fluorine coating on the front element to repel moisture and dust. It is compatible with many Sony camera-specific features and functions, including Fast Hybrid AF and Eye AF. Click here for more information.
